Beacon Broadcasting for SALE??
Well, I guess I recant my last statements about Beacon being up for sale. Yes the companies are up for sale which is a disappointment to me, I am hopeful that the new owner, whoever that may be, will share in Harold Glunts vision of making a difference in some ones life thru the power of radio. There is a way for the stations to be profitable and a good business investment, even as a Christian CHR/ Rock station. I guess the main thing is to leave it in Gods hands and as my former Pastor use to say, “Praise God and go Straight Ahead!”

Lindsey Vonn

O.K. I’ve gotta say something about this. Yahoo.com news this morning broke a story that Lindsey Vonn’s Picture on the Sports Illustrated cover may prove to be too provocative for international circles. Oh, come on! She’s SKIING for goodness sake! This one I’m going to chalk up to the OVERSESITIZATION of our culture. I really don’t get it, either we need to get our minds out of the gutter, or, do away with all sports media. Remember the picture of Sarah Palin?

Listen, I’m not suggesting that we get rid of all sports media, but there needs to come a time for common sense. Don’t even get me started on the whole Palin (Retarded) thing, there was a time in our culture, and others when retarded meant slow. Now it’s some horrible word that degrades someone. I mean, since we’re all so SENSITIVE now, do we need to change all of our music charts from “rit…” (which means slow down) to “this is a special section so slow down a bit?”
Look bottom line is, Lindsey Vonn didn’t do anything wrong! She posed for Sports Illustrated Skiing! Just as Sarah Palin posed for a running magazine. Where’s all the Democrats now with all their Tolerance stuff?

President Obamas State of the Union Address?
Is it just me, or did it just seem as if President Obama was trying to sell a car last night? I know your saying Gregg what is that supposed to mean? Well think about it, do you really think that the Democrats (the majority) are going to support off shore drilling or nuclear power? Oh yes, he was a pleasure to watch, and you gotta love that smile, but come on, there was not a whole lot of substance in that speech and understandably so, this administration hasn’t accomplished anything yet. It just seems, to me at least, that president Obama is just trying to sway a few Republicans and get them “on board” with his agendas, (sell them a car).
Making statements like “don’t say no to everything just because you can” to the Republicans, is merely saying, “I dare you to say yes to my agendas”. Hey, here’s a thought, how about when you meet with the Republican (minority of the house), listen to their concerns, and let’s have some real compromise and bipartisanship. O.K. I know I’m living in a fantasy world, but, we won’t see real reform on any front until that happens. Oh, and one more thing, let's have the state of union address, be the state of the union address, not a campaign platform.

Beacon Broadcasting for SALE??

I recently read the disturbing news on OMW that Beacon Broadcasting may be up for sale since the passing of owner Mr. Harold Glunt. It's amazing to me how incredibly vague that people can be in the sharing of news and information that they THINK they know. Let's review some facts...
Fact 1, Mr Glunt did pass away leaving controlling ownership to his son Dennis who currently runs Glunt Industries.
Fact 2, The party to which they are referring that was talking about buying, would have been my GM Rich Esbenshade
Fact 3, It was Harolds wish for the stations to go on, (this came from Harold himself).
Fact 4, The only other person that Harold could have talked to, was a Friend of mine who wanted to buy the station, but doesn't have two dimes to rub together
Beacon Broadcasting has been under fire ever since its inception, probably because of our mission. Yes we have had some people do some pretty goofy things in the name of Jesus, but that just goes to show that people are people. OMW, Beacon will go on!
